JOB SUMMARY

The Bingo/Pull Ticket & Registrations Specialist is responsible to review and determine eligibility of applicants for:

  • Bingo, pull ticket, and bingo facility licences
  • Gaming worker and company registrations

 

Responsibilities include extensive interaction with the public, applicants, registrants, licensees, and stakeholders.  This position must use a professional, competent manner and be able to explain and interpret legislation, regulation, and policies and ensure applicants comply with the same.

 

The position requires the incumbent to gain a comprehensive understanding of AGLC charitable gaming policies, the Alberta charitable gaming model, and applicable legislation which allows for the conduct of licensed bingo and pull ticket events in Alberta.  The Specialist is expected to have capacity for autonomous decision making and to be able to assess and apply policies, particularly new policy where ambiguity may exist and where there may be lack of clear processes developed.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • 3+ years of Administrative Office experience
  • Ability to make independent decisions and interpret legal documents
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle high workload volume, working independently within deadlines and with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with public, stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the LRS and GLS systems
  • Clear understanding of legislation, regulation, and policies that are essential to licensing and registration processes
  • Post-secondary education is an asset
