Job Summary

Please Note: This is a casual opportunity for one year.

 

Do you feel you would be able to blend into the Red Deer social scene effortlessly in order to conduct Under 25 audits in licensed pubs, liquor stores, cannabis stores, restaurants, and nightclubs? Are you frequently asked for identification? If you answered, “Yes,” we may have the position for you!

 

This is a 12-month casual position reporting to the Manager, Inspections Red Deer. You will be partnered with an AGLC Inspector. Agents are responsible for conducting Under 25 audits to determine if licensees are complying with the following AGLC policy: “Licensees, their agents or employees, must demand proof of age from all persons who appear to be less than 25 years of age”. While conducting audits, Agents will be responsible for the collection of sufficient evidence to determine when a violation has occurred, taking mental notes of the event, followed by the submission of detailed written reports. Agents may also be required to appear at administrative hearings to give evidence.

 

Agents are required to work a variety of daytime and nighttime shifts. Local and out of town overnight travel may be required and expenses will be covered while on duty. Candidates must meet the operational requirement of youthful appearance and the ability to take detailed notes.

Skills and Abilities

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Please include year of graduation. 
  • Enrollment in a post-secondary education program; law enforcement, justice or security programs are preferred.
