Are you early in your career, a recent graduate, or looking for flexible, part-time work? AGLC is seeking Casual Liquor Agents to support regulatory compliance activities across Alberta. As a Casual Liquor Agent, you will work alongside an AGLC Inspector to visit licensed cannabis and liquor establishments. Your primary responsibility will be to attempt controlled purchases to help verify that establishments are properly checking identification (ID) in accordance with provincial regulations.
In Alberta, licensed establishments must request ID from anyone who appears under the age of 25 when purchasing cannabis or liquor. Your role helps ensure these rules are being followed and supports public safety.

- Prepare clear and concise written reports following inspections
- As required, participate in administrative hearings to provide evidence

- Strong observation and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and in unfamiliar environments
- Clear written communication skills
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent); please include year of graduation
- Ability to meet program requirements related to age-based compliance testing. This includes individuals who may be reasonably perceived as under 25 years of age, as part of verifying ID practices in licensed establishments
- Willingness to travel within Alberta (urban and rural locations)
NOTE:
- To be eligible to work for AGLC, you must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or eligible to work in Canada.
- While we appreciate all applications we receive, we advise that only candidates under consideration will be contacted.
- As a condition of employment, you will be required to obtain a satisfactory security clearance and clean drivers abstract (if necessary) prior to employment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies.
- AGLC is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
