The Gaming branch is responsible to achieve annual revenue targets through provincially operated gaming activities that align with AGLC's vision of responsible gaming. The branch ensures that Gaming activities in the province are operated with integrity and social responsibility, aligning with Gaming Regulations and Board Policy and deliver on commitments to stakeholders in the province of Alberta.
Gaming activities included Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), Electronic Table Games (ETGs), Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), Lottery and Online Gambling.

Electronics Repair Technologist

Salary: $59,197.15 - $76,501.45
Reports to: Dieter Warnholz

Note: This is a temporary position with a projected end date of March 31, 2027.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution and at least two years of related experience troubleshooting, repair and analysis of electronic circuits at a component level is required.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) would be desirable.
- Ability to handle loads up to 50lbs on a regular basis is required.
- Experience in a high volume, fast paced Electronics repair facility with the ability to work on surface mount technologies would be an asset.
- Combination of experience as a Slot/VLT Technician, Electronics Repair Technologist or Field Service Technician is also an asset.
JOB SUMMARY
Are you looking for a rewarding career with an organization that helps Alberta's communities grow and prosper? If so, we have a position for you! The Gaming Branch is looking for a skilled individual to join our team in Supply Chain as an Electronics Repair Technologist.
Reporting to the Manger, Inventory Operations, the Electronics Repair Technologist’s core responsibilities are: troubleshoot, diagnose, test, repair and verify all failed electronic and mechanical devices, parts, and assemblies in the gaming supply chain; research new methods and test equipment for performing diagnostics and repair of all gaming devices; and the design and construction of test beds, test jigs and other electronic test devices that may be general or specific to gaming industry products. Additional duties include keeping up-to-date records of part status and repair histories, investigating repair patterns, proposing solutions and participating in new component evaluations as well as providing technical support to field services, production and other technical service personnel.
To be successful in this role you must have excellent time management skills and attention to detail to be able to work independently organizing and completing your workload. Good written and verbal communication skills are needed as these positions provide support to technicians in the field and have regular contact with AGLC suppliers. Strong trouble shooting and circuit analysis skills are necessary for the repair of complex electronic boards and systems. Experience in researching and sourcing repair documentation and parts that may be very rare, obsolete, or unmarked is also necessary.
