Liquor Payment Collection Clerk - PRT

JOB SUMMARY
Are you detail-oriented, analytical and motivated by working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? The Liquor Payment Collection Clerk - Part time plays a critical role in Alberta’s liquor supply chain by ensuring liquor orders are paid in full and released accurately and on time. In this role, you will match payments to orders, resolve discrepancies, support collections and ensure compliance with legislation. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, problem-solving and delivering strong service to internal and external stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This Part -time role is being hired temporarily on an hourly basis until Dec 31st 2026 with a possibility of extension.
Payment Matching & Order Release (Primary Focus)
- Review and reconcile electronic and physical payments multiple times daily
- Match payments to warehouse orders with a high degree of accuracy
- Authorize release of orders within strict operational timelines
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies directly with licensees
- Complete daily reconciliations to ensure zero payment or release errors
Collections & Account Management
- Proactively manage outstanding balances and follow up with licensees
- Research complex account variances and provide clear explanations
- Maintain accurate account records and documentation
- Collaborate with warehouses and partners to resolve issues
- Escalate complex or sensitive matters as appropriate
Reporting & Financial Support
- Prepare and validate daily reports for Finance
- Maintain tracking reports for credits, debits, and collections
- Prepare and process daily bank deposits within deadlines
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years’ administrative or financial experience
- Working knowledge of financial processes such as accounts receivable or payment reconciliation is preferred
- Post-secondary coursework in accounting or finance is considered an asset
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar systems is an asset
- Knowledge of the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act and Regulations is an asset
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong Excel and general computer proficiency
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage high volumes of work and meet tight deadlines
- Conflict resolution and relationship management skills
