ABOUT LIQUOR & CANNABIS
The Liquor & Cannabis Division resides within Business Development and supports innovative and progressive developments in AGLC’s liquor and cannabis businesses. AGLC is responsible for managing the supply chains of both lines of business in Alberta and all aspects of AGLC’s role in ensuring product fulfillment to downstream private retail enterprises. For Cannabis this includes evaluating incoming products, inventory management, and ensuring the highest quality of products are provided to Albertans. For Liquor this includes registration of liquor products, onboarding and supporting Alberta liquor manufacturers, and performing customs clearances for all liquor imported into the province. The division ensures adherence to applicable federal and provincial legislation and works closely with manufacturers, suppliers, agencies, licensed producers, liquor and cannabis licensees, and related associations. The division is supported by three branches: Stakeholder Management, Operations, and Supply Chain & Warehousing.

JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to the modernization of warehouse policies and practices in Alberta’s Liquor and Cannabis Industries as a seasoned professional with a passion for supply chain management and a knack for leadership!! AGLC is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Inventory & Warehousing to lead our specialized teams responsible for liquor and cannabis supply chain management, inventory monitoring, and payment collection. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective processes and controls for the distribution, tracking, and compliance of liquor and cannabis products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Provide direction to three diverse teams, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee vendor performance, contract management, and ensure compliance with regulations for warehousing and distribution.
- Warehouse Operations Administration: Ensure accurate accounting and physical tracking of liquor products, identify control weaknesses, and implement improvements.
- Liquor Payment Collection: Manage the timely release of liquor orders and address payment disputes and service issues.
- Policy & Strategy: Lead policy discussions, provide high-level support and advice on warehousing and storage solutions, and advocate for technology and process improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence change and balance priorities.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Post-secondary degree in business administration, commerce, or a related field. CPA or CFE designation is an asset.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in supply chain management, a regulatory environment, or an assurance-related field.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, accounting principles, and assurance standards.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and people management skills.
