JOB SUMMARY:
Summer Opportunity: Network Analyst in action!
Looking for a summer job that actually uses the skills you’re learning in school? As a Network Analyst with AGLC, you’ll get hands-on experience supporting real production network environments that span corporate offices, gaming facilities, casinos, and VLT sites across Alberta.
You’ll work closely with the Network Operations team to support, maintain, and roll out new technologies. From monitoring systems and supporting infrastructure, to coordinating installations and learning enterprise tools, you won’t just be watching - you’ll be doing.

What You’ll Do:
- Support AGLC’s Corporate and Gaming network infrastructure
- Assist with the Casino and VLT network refresh project
- Work with SA2 Network Operations employees to tackle real tasks and tickets
- Provide operational support to business areas and internal customers
- Use enterprise tools like SolarWinds Orion, TELUS Jasper LTE Portal, and DCIM
- Help coordinate installation and changes to LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Create and update network documentation using Visio and DCIM
- Collaborate with IT teams on new tech rollouts, support plans, and procedures
- Ensure accurate time entry and follow ITSM + information security processes
- 100% onsite in office. Option for working from home is not available.
- Travel within Edmonton and beyond, with potential overnight hotel stays.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Currently enrolled and returning to a Bachelor of IT or networking or IT, such as: Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or Telecommunications.
- Familiarity with core networking concepts including IP addressing, routing/switching, and common network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Basic understanding of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ability to create and maintain end-user or technical documentation.
- Exposure to Python scripting for automation or troubleshooting tasks.
- Assets include:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco’s CCNA, or similar..
- Any hands-on experience with networking tools, or lab setups.
