  • Registered/enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Returning to full-time studies in September for the next academic term.

JOB SUMMARY

Summer Opportunity: Server Support Specialist

 

The Enterprise Server, Storage and Data Operations team is looking for a summer student to join our team and assist us with the following: 

  • Assist with the decommissioning and provisioning of servers in various AGLC production and non-production environments.  
  • Assist with the Identity Governance & Administration tool including: 
    • Application maintenance 
    • AGLC User Role maintenance 
  • Perform maintenance within AGLC’s M365 tenant including: 
    • Adjusting and automating licensing 
    • Automated reporting on license usage 
  • Azure Landing Zone Maintenance and documentation 
  • Microsoft EntraID Maintenance including: 
    • Data cleanup and validation on user objects, groups, applications 
    • Creation and maintenance of Graph scripts 
  • Active Directory Forest maintenance including: 
    • The cleanup and validation of user, computer and other objects 
    • DNS virtualization 
    • Domain object security 
  • Data Center Inventory including: 
    • Assisting with collecting and tagging information and data in AGLC’s data centers 
  • Azure DevOps script import and process refinement 
  • Update related documentation in the VMware virtualization platform
  • An opportunity to learn and contribute to related architecture designs
  • Exposure to AGLC IT Service Management policies and processes which are based on ITIL standards 
  • Exposure to AGLC Information Security policies and procedures that need to be followed 

 

Details of the Job:

  • Hybrid work setup. In office 3 days per week and work from home the other 2 days. 
  • Duration: May 5, 2025, until August 29,2025. 

 

 SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Currently enrolled and returning to post-secondary programs related to Computer Science, such as Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or Digital Media and IT diplomas 

The following skills or familiarity would be considered assets: 

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID 
  • Experience with PowerShell, .NET Framework, C#  
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL 
  • Experience with VMware virtualization 
  • Experience with Networking Concepts 
  • Microsoft certifications
