JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Review, the Supervisor, Charity Financial Reporting leads a team of Financial Review Analysts and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing licensee financial reporting activities.

 

This role plays an important part in supporting the integrity and accountability of Alberta's gaming model. The Supervisor ensures gaming events are reported accurately and that gaming proceeds are appropriately accounted for and used for eligible purposes in accordance with the Gaming and Liquor Act (GLA), AGLC Handbooks, Terms and Conditions, Operating Guidelines, Policies, and Board Directives.

 

Key responsibilities include overseeing the collection and review of Bingo Association and casino event financial data, authorizing bingo pool disbursements, and calculating casino pool adjustments. The position is also responsible for monitoring operational processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring consistent application of regulatory and reporting requirements.

 

As a People Leader, the supervisor must be approachable and encourage the sharing of ideas within the team while dealing directly with stakeholders on finding win/win solutions to concerns or complaints.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Minimum of a two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field is required.
  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible related experience in financial review, accounting, compliance, auditing, regulatory administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and communicate policies, procedures, legislation, or regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Assets include:
      • Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, or supervising staff.
      • Knowledge of the gaming industry, charitable gaming operations, or related regulatory environments.
      • Coursework toward, or completion of, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
      • Experience reviewing financial reports, conducting financial analysis, or interpreting complex financial information.
