IT proudly provides the computer systems, security, IT services and governance that support AGLC’s businesses, including the operation & support of mission critical gaming, liquor and corporate systems running on a variety of computing platforms. IT ensures the stability and performance of a Local/Wide Area Network, which supports over 1,200 gaming locations and more than 2,000 computers/tablets, 150 physical and 2,000 virtual servers distributed across six corporate offices, casinos, RECs and bingo halls. IT provides leadership in the use of information technology, data and systems to help the AGLC achieve business goals and objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Server, Storage & Data Operations, the Team Lead, Enterprise Identity & Applications is considered a senior technical support and subject matter expert who is responsible for leading the Enterprise Identity & Applications team in the Infrastructure & Operations Branch of IT.  This role requires in-depth knowledge and provides expertise and leadership in the support of specialized enterprise-wide tools and applications such as Active Directory, Azure, M365, Identity & Access Management, IGA technology, Messaging, Citrix, SecureWeb, as well as cloud-based solutions. In addition to the technical role, the Team Lead of Enterprise Identity & Applications plays a supervisory/leadership role for the eight (8) members of the Enterprise Identity & Applications team. 

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing task assignments, coaching, mentoring and performance appraisals for direct reports.
  • Leading, participating, and assisting in crisis service situations.
  • Championing key IT processes such as Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management including Root Cause Analysis.
  • Leading IT Audit related activities specific to areas of responsibility.
  • Ensuring maintenance, support, and disaster recovery documentation is created and maintained.
  • Effectively managing/providing communication, both written and oral, to stakeholders and vendors.
  • Escalating issues to management within a timely manner while helping to develop workarounds or providing other mitigation alternatives.
  • Assisting with technology related roadmaps and purchasing decisions.
  • Leading and managing large and complex operational projects.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on architecture and change initiatives by the IT division.

 

Please note: Due to the technical critical nature of the position, the successful candidate must live within 1 hour drive from the St.Albert office. 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Minimum of a Degree in computer science or related technology discipline and 4 years of experience, including 2 years leading projects and/or supervising others.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • Strong project management, leadership, risk management, change management, and time management skills are required. 

 

Experience with the following would be considered an asset:

  • Completion of formal leadership/management training
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft Azure and M365
  • Working knowledge of security best practices
  • Working knowledge of Linux
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • Gaming systems experience
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting tools
